What Can I Put In My Haiti Shoebox? |
|
The January 12, 2010 earthquake was historic. I was in Haiti when it happened. The very day of the earthquake, we were giving away Christmas shoeboxes in villages. The day after and weeks after, even more shoeboxes were given away. They blessed lives in a time of crisis. Now, we have an opportunity to be part of something historic this Christmas. Our goal is to collect 20,000 shoeboxes for Haiti. One for each of the 10,000 students enrolled in New Missions schools and one for 10,000 more children that are not. Together, let's share some extra love with the children of Haiti this Christmas. ~Timothy DeTellis, president, New Missions
Please look over the list carefully and then pack your items (see below) in a plastic, clear shoebox no larger than 6 quarts (download your packing list here). Remember, every child is in need and your gift of these items will help to make their lives easier.

that will receive your shoebox, your family photo,
wristwatch, hair accessories, costume jewelry,
flashlight (with extra batteries or solar powered/

small cars, dominoes, playing cards, jump ropes, balls
(deflated with possibly a small pump & needle for
a soccer ball or basketball), yo-yo’s, stuffed animals,
